Why a Proper Fitting Matters

A contact lens prescription isn't the same as a glasses prescription. Lens curvature, diameter, material and design all have to match your eye, or you get the classic complaints: dryness by mid-afternoon, blurry reading, lenses that rotate or pop out.

Our fitting measures your cornea, tear film and pupil size, then puts trial lenses on your eyes so you can test-drive them before you buy. The result is a lens you can forget you're wearing.

Dr. Teresita Bollar is the owner and lead optometrist at Style Site Optical. A graduate of Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, she has practiced across Miami-Dade since 2009 and fits everything from first-time daily lenses to multifocal, toric and specialty scleral lenses.

Contact Lens FAQs

How much does a contact lens exam cost?

Our contact lens exam and fitting is $240 and includes the eye health exam, measurements, trial lenses and a follow-up. VSP, EyeMed and most vision plans apply their contact lens benefit.

Can I wear contacts if I have astigmatism?

Yes. Toric lenses correct astigmatism and are available in daily, monthly and even multifocal versions.

I'm over 40 — can I still wear contacts?

Absolutely. Multifocal contact lenses let you see distance, computer and reading without reaching for readers. Most people adapt within a few days to two weeks.

My eyes get dry in contacts. Any options?

Usually, yes. Modern silicone hydrogel and water-gradient daily lenses are far more comfortable than older materials, and we can also treat the underlying dryness.

Can I buy my lenses from you?

Yes. We order your supply once the fit is confirmed, and can help you take advantage of manufacturer rebates and annual-supply pricing.

I've never worn contacts. Is it hard?

Not with a little coaching. We teach you insertion, removal and care in the office, and you'll practice until you're comfortable before going home.
