Walk-in eye exams
Need an eye doctor today? Walk in during office hours, including Saturdays, or call and we'll hold the next open slot.
Refraction
The "which is better, one or two?" test that sets an accurate glasses or contact lens prescription for how you actually use your eyes.
Retinal imaging
High-resolution photos and OCT scans of the retina and optic nerve — in most cases without dilating drops or the air puff.
Dry eye care
Burning, gritty or watery eyes? We find the cause — tear quality, oil glands, screens or contacts — and build a plan that lasts.
Glaucoma care
Glaucoma has no early symptoms. We screen at every comprehensive exam and monitor at-risk patients with in-office OCT.
Diabetes + hypertension
Yearly eye exams that catch diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy early, with a report sent to your physician.
Cataract evaluation
Cloudy, dim or glare-filled vision checked and graded, with referral to a trusted surgeon and follow-up care here.
LASIK & refractive surgery
Candidacy checks before LASIK or PRK and post-op visits after, coordinated with local surgeons.
WHY IT MATTERS
Why a full exam, not just a vision test
A quick vision screening only tells you how well you read a chart. Most of the conditions that take sight — glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration — cause no blur and no pain until damage is done. A comprehensive exam looks at the health of the eye itself, so we can catch them while they are still treatable.

What happens at your eye exam
Most exams take 30–45 minutes. You can pick frames or contact lenses in the same visit.
Check-in and benefits
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card and your current glasses or contacts. We verify coverage on the spot so you know your cost first.
Pre-tests and imaging
Eye pressure, digital retinal photos and, when needed, an OCT scan — usually without dilating drops.
Exam with Dr. Bollar
Refraction for your prescription, then a health check of the front and back of each eye, with images shown on screen.
Plan and eyewear
We explain the results, send any reports to your physician, and our opticians help with glasses or contacts.
What it costs without insurance
Straight prices, quoted before your visit. With a vision plan most patients pay only a copay, and medical problems are usually billed to medical insurance.

How much is an eye exam without insurance?
A comprehensive eye exam is $140, a contact lens exam and fitting is $240, and a medical or urgent eye visit is $150. We quote your price before the exam starts.
Do you take my insurance?
We accept most vision and medical plans, including VSP, EyeMed, Davis Vision, Spectera, Aetna, Cigna, Oscar, Humana and Florida Medicaid. Bring your card or call with your plan details and we'll check your benefits before you come in. See the full insurance list.
How often should I have an eye exam?
Adults should have a comprehensive exam every one to two years, and every year if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, glaucoma risk factors or wear contact lenses. Children should be seen every year during the school years.
Will my eyes be dilated?
Usually not. Our retinal imaging gives a wide view of the retina without drops in most cases, so you can drive and get on with your day. If Dr. Bollar needs a closer look, she'll explain why first.
How long does an exam take?
Plan on 30–45 minutes for the exam itself, a little longer if you're choosing frames or being fitted for contacts.
Do you see children?

Can I walk in?
Yes, whenever the schedule allows — including Saturdays. Calling ahead is the fastest way to be seen. See walk-in eye exams.
