Your prescription, done right
Every Rx sunglass is measured for your pupillary distance and how the frame sits on your face. A wrap or a strong prescription needs compensation that online retailers simply do not do.
Any frame, any prescription
Most designer frames can take prescription lenses — including wraps and rimless. If a frame will not work in your Rx, we tell you before you fall in love with it.
Real UV protection
Dark lenses without UV blocking are worse than no sunglasses at all, because your pupils open wider. Everything we sell blocks 100% of UVA and UVB.
Insurance, FSA and HSA
Prescription sunglasses are eligible medical expenses and many vision plans cover them as a second pair. We check your benefits before you order.
Adjusted and serviced here
Frames bought here get free adjustments, screws and nose pads for life. Bought elsewhere? We still take care of it, for a small charge. Try getting that from a website.

Every sunglass lens type, explained
The frame is the fun part. The lens is what you actually look through — here is what we can put in it.
Polarized
Kills glare bouncing off water, wet roads and car hoods. The single best upgrade for driving, boating and the beach — and the one we recommend most in South Florida.
Gradient tint
Darker at the top, lighter at the bottom. Shades the sun overhead while letting you still read your dashboard or a menu.
Solid tint
An even tint front to back, in grey, brown or green. Grey keeps colors true, brown lifts contrast, green splits the difference.
Mirrored
A reflective coating that cuts brightness further and hides your eyes. Popular in blue, silver, gold and rose.
Photochromic / Transitions
Clear indoors, dark outside. One pair instead of two — though they stay lighter behind a windshield, which is why we still recommend a dedicated sunglass for driving.
Progressive sunglasses
Distance, computer and reading in one sunglass lens, with no line. If you wear progressives indoors, you want them outdoors too.
Single vision
One prescription across the lens, for distance or reading. The most affordable way into a designer sunglass.
High-index & polycarbonate
Thinner, lighter lenses for stronger prescriptions, and impact-resistant polycarbonate for sport and for kids.
SUNGLASS LENS REPLACEMENT
Love the frame? Keep it — we will change the lenses
Bring in the sunglasses you already own and we will fit new lenses in your prescription: polarized, tinted, mirrored or progressive. It works on most designer frames, including pairs you bought somewhere else.
Scratched-up lenses in a frame you still love, non-prescription sunglasses you want made into Rx, or an old pair with an out-of-date prescription — all fixable, usually in about a week.

Sunglasses FAQs
Can I get prescription lenses in designer sunglasses?
Yes — in almost any frame we carry, Tom Ford, Gucci and MODO included. A few heavily wrapped or very small frames will not take a strong prescription well, and we will tell you that before you buy rather than after.
Do you make prescription sunglasses for progressive wearers?
Yes. Progressive sunglasses give you distance, dashboard and reading in one lens with no line. If you already wear progressives indoors, a progressive sunglass is almost always the right call outdoors.
What is the difference between polarized and just dark lenses?
Dark lenses reduce overall brightness. Polarized lenses also block the horizontally reflected light that bounces off water, wet asphalt and car hoods — the glare that makes you squint. In Florida the difference is dramatic, especially driving and on the water.
Can you put my prescription in sunglasses I already own?
Usually, yes. Bring the frame in and we will check its condition and shape, then cut new prescription lenses to fit. It works on most designer sunglasses, including ones bought elsewhere.
Does insurance cover prescription sunglasses?
Often. Many vision plans include an allowance you can put toward a second pair, and prescription sunglasses are FSA and HSA eligible as a medical expense. We check your benefits before anything is ordered.
How much do prescription sunglasses cost?
It depends on the frame and lens you choose — we have options at every level, from straightforward single-vision tints to polarized progressives in a designer frame. You get the full price before you commit, with your insurance applied.
How long do they take?
Single-vision sunglass lenses are usually ready in a few business days; polarized progressives and specialty lenses take a little longer. We will give you a realistic date when you order.
Do I need a current prescription?
For prescription sunglasses, yes — Florida prescriptions are valid for one to two years. If yours has expired we can do the exam the same day, so it is one trip, not two.
Do you sell non-prescription designer sunglasses too?
Absolutely. Plenty of people come in just for a plano pair — same brands, same fitting and adjustments, no prescription needed.
