HOW IT WORKS
H.A.L.T. Technology, Explained Simply
Each Stellest lens has a clear central zone for sharp everyday vision, surrounded by 11 rings of tiny lenslets. Those lenslets bend light so it focuses slightly in front of the retina, which sends the eye a signal to stop elongating. Your child just sees a normal pair of glasses.

Are Stellest lenses safe?
Yes. They are standard spectacle lenses with a special surface design — no drops, no overnight wear and nothing touching the eye. Children adapt within about a week, and Dr. Bollar monitors every child on a regular schedule.
What age can my child start?
Stellest is designed for children whose myopia is still progressing, typically ages 6 to 16. The earlier treatment starts, the more progression can be prevented.
Will my child see clearly through them?
Yes. The central zone of the lens corrects vision just like a normal lens. Most children notice nothing different after a short adjustment period.
How much do Stellest lenses cost?
The first step is a comprehensive pediatric eye exam ($140), which most vision plans cover. We quote the Stellest lenses and frame at that visit, since pricing depends on prescription and frame choice.
Does insurance cover Stellest?
Vision plans such as VSP and EyeMed usually apply their standard lens and frame allowances, and the remaining balance is paid privately. We'll show you exactly how your benefits apply before you order.
